COLUMBIA, SC – On July 20th, Lowcountry Leadership welcomed their new School Leader, Mr. Lucius Walker. Most recently, he has served as the Assistant Principal and Director of Athletics at Horse Creek Academy, where he provided leadership, coached teachers, and oversaw middle and high school athletic programs.
When asked about his time in South Carolina schools, Mr. Walker said “Nothing has brought more joy to my life than serving in education. The students of Lowcountry Leadership deserve a leader who will help coach them into their most successful selves.” Mr. Walker has 18 years of educational experience, with 12 being in administration.
Mr. Walker has received recognition as the Aiken Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year, was recognized as part of the Aiken County Stars of Public Education Honor Court, and is certified to train new teachers to succeed.
Mr. Walker will be succeeding the former School Leader, Ms. Julianne Lang, who will be moving into the newly created role of CEO/Executive Director for the school. Together, the two bring decades of educational experience to serve the students of the Lowcountry.
The Lowcountry Leadership Charter School is a tuition-free charter school with a focus of developing leaders through project-based experiences. LLCS utilizes a project-based learning curriculum to teach students the importance of cooperation, foresight, and diligence.
