CAMDEN, SC – The Montessori School of Camden (MSC) is excited to announce that they have hired Dr. Jeffrey Foster as their new Head of School for the 2024-2025 school year.
Dr. Foster holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum & Instruction from UNC Charlotte and has a robust educational background, including a Graduate Certificate in School Administration/Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, both from UNC Charlotte.
“In an effort to preserve the standard of excellence that already exists here at MSC, we ensured that the Head of School search was extremely intensive,” said MSC Board Chair, Michael Conley. “After getting to know Dr. Foster, we felt confident that we had found our new leader. The combination of his deep educational background and varying work experience will be a major asset for our MSC students, staff, teachers, and families.”
Dr. Foster has a wealth of experience in education, and in his most recent role, served as a Professor of Education at Clinton College, where he specialized in Curriculum Development, Educational Psychology, and Classroom Management.
Prior to that, he served as the K-6 Principal and then Interim Executive Director at INVEST COLLEGIATE: Transform Charter School. Dr. Foster’s strategic planning and execution skills were pivotal in achieving the school’s highest academic performance in six years and ensuring a 100% graduation rate with 85% of seniors attending a four-year university.
“I am honored and excited to join the Montessori School of Camden as the new Head of School,” said Dr. Foster. “I look forward to working with the entire MSC community to build upon the strong foundation that has been established before me and to continuing to use the Montessori method to generate excellent results. Education is a transformative journey, and I am committed to creating an environment where every child can thrive, explore their interests, and develop into confident, compassionate individuals.”
Dr. Foster’s previous roles include Instructional Technology Facilitator and Diversity Coordinator at Bradford Preparatory School, and Elementary Teacher at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.
Dr. Foster’s comprehensive experience in curriculum development, educational leadership, and community engagement aligns perfectly with the Montessori School of Camden’s mission to nurture the “whole” child to inspire independence and a lifelong love of learning.
