Sister schools Morning Star Academy and South Carolina Construction Academy united the Myrtle Beach community with a flag-raising ceremony, marking a milestone in the two schools’ journey to launch this August.
The Myrtle Beach fire department, police department, and American Legion Post 40 gathered with the local community to celebrate the sister schools’ new campus on Mr. Joe White Avenue.

Principals from both Morning Star Academy, Danielle Scarpelli, and South Carolina Construction Academy, Jae Anderson, hosted the event to make memorable connections, answer questions and share their vision with the community.
“We want to embrace this time and let the community know where we are, who we are, and how we want to serve our students,” South Carolina Construction Academy principal Jae Anderson stated. “This partnership with SCCA allows us to build on that foundation, creating a full K–12 experience that serves Horry County by preparing students for both higher education and high-demand careers.”
Morning Star Academy (MSA) will partner with South Carolina Construction Academy (SCCA) to occupy the same building and offer a full K-12 education to the Horry County area. MSA will be a hands-on learning STEAM academy while SCCA will provide industry-aligned coursework in construction trades such as electrical and plumbing work to prepare students for jobs after graduation.

Morning Star Academy is a K-8 school that will open in Fall 2026. The school utilizes a unique project-based curriculum that allows hands-on, immersive learning. Through small class sizes and a dedicated staff, it will provide a nurturing and supportive environment for all students. For more information about Morning Star Academy, visit www.morningstaredu.org
