MEGGETT, SC – Lowcountry Leadership Charter School (LLCS) is empowering students to take the next step toward higher education. The school recently hosted a College Application Day, providing students with hands-on support and encouragement to think about their plans after high school.
The event featured representatives from colleges, including Trident Technical College and Spartanburg Methodist College, who were on site to guide students through the application process and provide detailed information about their respective schools.
Seventy-five percent of attending students submitted college applications on the spot, and those who didn’t took information home with them.

“Opportunities like this are important for students because they don’t always know how to take these steps on their own,” said Ms. Julianne Lang, LLCS School Leader. “It is so important that we not only guide them through their K-12 education, but also prepare them for life after they leave us. From completing applications to researching colleges and crafting admissions essays, we aim to equip our students with the skills they need for success.”
The event created a supportive, college-focused atmosphere where students could socialize, explore majors, and engage with college representatives. Breakfast, fun giveaways such as dorm supplies and ramen packs, and faculty dressed in their alma mater collegiate attire added to the excitement. Additionally, the school provided free application codes, allowing students to apply to multiple schools without the financial burden of application fees.

LLCS faculty and staff highlighted the event as an exceptional opportunity to witness students take important steps toward their future beyond high school.
