Calhoun Falls Charter School (CFCS) has announced Kaylin Norris as the school’s new principal. A Calhoun Falls Native and Calhoun Falls High School alumna, Norris steps into this leadership role with a deep sense of purpose, community pride, and a passion for empowering students to succeed.
According to Norris, a driving motivation behind accepting this leadership opportunity was a strong desire to give back to her community and the CFCS students.
“Many of the influential mentors that I have had in my life, I met through this school,” said Norris. “My inspiration stems from desiring to be a part of the foundational influence that educators have in the lives of the future—our students.”
Norris describes her leadership style as that of a servant leader, focused on building trust and collaboration among teachers, staff, families, and students. Guided by the motto “Teamwork makes the dream work,” she is committed to creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.
As she begins her first year as principal, Norris hopes families and the community will see her dedication to students. “The students always matter. Their education matters. Their social-emotional needs matter. Their dreams and goals matter. This community matters. Calhoun Falls Charter School exists today because our students matter and deserve a high-quality education in our community.”
Looking ahead, Norris is especially excited about her vision for growth at CFCS. She has challenged students and staff to “B.U.I.L.D.” leaders by being Bold, United, Inspired, Limitless, and Determined.

The CFCS Board looks forward to the leadership that Norris will provide as principal. “Ms. Norris has long demonstrated a strong dedication to Calhoun Falls Charter School and our students,” said Board Chairman Tracy Lindler. “Her passion for education, coupled with her personal investment in this community, makes her incredibly well-prepared to guide our school forward. We are confident she will make a meaningful and lasting difference for our students and families.”
This school year holds extra meaning for Norris as she reflects on her own journey. Twenty years ago, she began her senior year in the same classrooms where she now serves as principal. Adding to this milestone, her son also entered his senior year at CFCS this fall. “The first day of school was very emotional,” she said. “I am now getting the opportunity to lead the school that shaped me into the person I am today.”
