FLORENCE, SC – Virtus Academy of South Carolina fourth-grade student Abigail Rogers was named the 2024 Elementary School Student of the Year at the Charter Institute at Erskine’s Awards Banquet on May 16.
Rogers was nominated for statewide Student of the Year by the leaders at her school. In her nomination form, they spoke about her resilience, strong character, ability to connect with others, and academic achievements. According to Virtus’ Assistant Principal Kaymeo Davis, “Abigail Rogers epitomizes the qualities of a true leader, scholar, and compassionate citizen.”
The purpose of the Institute’s Student of the Year Award is to recognize a student that has gone above and beyond in their school communities, both academically and culturally. These students embody the mission and values of both their school and the Institute as a whole.
In addition to being recognized with a certificate, medal, and award, Rogers received a resolution from Senator Mike Reichenbach, District 31, in honor of her achievements.
“We are thrilled to have Abigail represent Virtus on a statewide level,” said Dr. Brian Carpenter, Managing Consultant at Virtus. “Her impact on our Virtus Wolf Pack is undeniable and we are so lucky to have her as part of our school community.”
