COLUMBIA, SC – The Charter Institute at Erskine (Institute) has been ranked the No. 1 Small Company in South Carolina by The South Carolina Top Workplaces. Additionally, the Institute was named a 2024 Top Workplace in South Carolina. The Institute is one of 76 organizations across South Carolina to receive the honor of Top Workplace.
These honors were awarded based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling Respected & Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute, to name a few.
Employees at the Institute enjoy extensive benefits and a culture of excellence and growth. According to Mr. Vamshi Rudrapati, the Institute’s Chief Operating Officer, one of their biggest accomplishments has been the organization-wide commitment to prioritizing work/life balance.
“I credit the honor of being named a Top Workplace to our commitment to maintaining a culture of excellence,” said Superintendent Cameron Runyan. “When every member of an organization is committed to one mission, it makes the organization that much stronger. We would not be where we are today without such a dedicated and passionate group of individuals.”
Other contributors to the overall culture include the strong cultural foundation, which is represented by the “Erskine Philosophy,” frequent performance review opportunities, and internal professional development. One of these programs, titled “The Breakfast Club,” gives rising leaders of the organization an opportunity to build camaraderie, form relationships with senior leadership, travel, network externally, and more. One member of the 2024 cohort is Ms. Kristy Cansler.
“I love my job because I am given many opportunities to lean and grow inside and outside of my day-to-day role,” said Ms. Cansler, Executive Director of Federal Programs (Finance), in a quote that was featured during the statewide Awards Ceremony. “I can get behind the company vision as it aligns with who I am personally and professionally. I love my coworkers and the relationships that I have forged.”
